بعد مخاوف أمنية أمريكية بشأن تطبيق TikTok الذي تمتلكه الشركة الصينية ByteDance، أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب أنه سيجبر الشركة على البيع لشركة أمريكية بحلول 15 سبتمبر أو سيتم حظر التطبيق في الولايات المتحدة.

بعد نقاشات مع مديري تيك توك والرئيس التنفيذي لمايكروسوفت – ساتيا ناديلا، أخبر ترامب الصحافة أنه أمهل الشركة الصينية 45 يومًا لتأمين الشراء من قبل شركة أمريكية قبل إغلاق التطبيق.

أعلنت مايكروسوفت عن خططها للاستحواذ على عمليات TikTok في الولايات المتحدة وكندا وأستراليا ونيوزيلندا. وتعليقا على ذلك، قال ترامب: أن شراء جزء من التطبيق قد تكون فكرة معقدة وأنه يفضل إغلاق التطبيق على ذلك. ولكنه منح الضوء الأخضر لمايكروسوفت في تنفيذ خططها.

وعدت مايكروسوفت في حال تمت صفقة الإستحواذ، أنها ستوفر خصوصية وحماية أمنية لمستخدمي تيك توك حيث أنها ستنقل بياناتهم إلى الولايات المتحدة وبذلك تمنع الصين من التجسس عليها.

أكدت ByteDance الأخبار المتداولة التي تفيد بأن اللجنة الأمريكية للاستثمارات الأجنبية تعمل على تجريد الشركة من TikTok. بحلول الموعد النهائي في 15 سبتمتر، قد تضطر TikTok إلى اتخاذ صفقة ليست مثالية بالنسبة لها، وقد تضطر للقيام ببعض التضحيات لإنقاذ عملياتها في الولايات المتحدة.
