“توشيبا” اليابانية تودع سوق الكمبيوتر المحمول بعد 35 عاما

صرحت الشركة اليابانية العملاقة توشيبا أنها لن تنتج الكمبيوترات الشخصية المحمولة (Laptops) بعد الآن، من بعد رحلة دامت لثلاثة عقود في هذه الصناعة.

إشترت شارب 80% من وحدة الكمبيوتر الشخصي لشركة توشيبا في 2018 بمبلغ 36 مليون دولار أمريكي، والتي أعادت شارب تسميتها لاحقا لتصبح Dynabook. في 4 أغسطس استولت شارب على الـ 20% الأخرى من دينابوك، وأصبحت الآن شركة فرعية مملوكة بالكامل من قبل شارب. ويعني هذا أن توشيبا لم تعد لها علاقة بصناعة الكمبيوتر الشخصي، سواء المكتبي أو المحمول.

توشيبا كانت دائما مساهمًا أساسيًا في سباق الكمبيوتر الشخصي. حيث أطلقت أول لاب توب، وكان يزن حوالي 3,7 كيلوجرام في 1985. كانت توشيبا تتصدر السوق خلال عقد التسعينات حتى بداية الألفية الجديدة، وكانت غالبا ما تصنف ضمن أفضل 5 شركات في صناعة الكمبيوترات الشخصية في العالم.

توشيبا T1100 – أول كمبيوتر شخصي محمول

شهد سوق الكمبيوتر الشخصي تراجعًا في العقد الأخير بسبب التحولات التي يشهدها سوق التكنلوجيا، بسبب تزايد الإقبال على الهواتف الذكية والأجهزة الذكية التي أصبحت تشكل بديلا قويا عن الكمبيوترات الشخصية، سواء في مجال الأعمال أو الترفيه أو الإستخدام الشخصي اليومي.

بالإضافة إلى الإبتكار المستمر من قبل المنافسين الذي وضع صناعة توشيبا في خطر، مع الأوضاع المالية الغير مستقرة وإنخفاض المبيعات، كلها أسباب دفعت بالشركة اليابانية بالقرب من منحدر الموت في سوق الكمبيوتر الشخصي. بعد خسارة 318 مليون دولار سجلتها في 2015، توشيبا غيرت توجهها للتركيز على سوق عتاد الأجهزة (Hardware).

في حين أن هذا يمثل نهاية أعمالها في سوق الكمبيوتر الشخصي ، إلا أن وحدة التلفزيون في توشيبا تواصل عملها وازدهارها.
